Held on 25th June 2025, QuantumSpark was an online ideathon aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Indian National Quantum Mission, bringing together over 100 students from institutions such as IIT Jodhpur, Banasthali, IIIT Kottayam, CBIT Hyderabad, MMIT Pune, and IMSEC Ghaziabad. Participants presented innovative solutions on themes like quantum-secure 6G, photonics in healthcare, quantum water sensors, and laser-based climate tools. The event fostered collaboration and critical thinking, inspiring impactful ideas for a sustainable future.
Thirteen members of our society, accompanied by faculty mentor Dr. Yugnanda Puri, visited the ARIES-
Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences observatory in Nainital. The trip proved to be an enlightening experience, offering insights into the science of telescope operations and the methods used to process images from captured light through two engaging presentations. Participants also had the unique opportunity to witness the functioning of an optical telescope first-hand, making the visit both educational and memorable.
Held on April 21, 2025, Silicon Valley Showdown featured a dynamic debate competition with nearly 150 participants from esteemed institutions including Indira Gandhi Delhi Technological University for Women, Amity University, and Kirori Mal College. Centered on themes in technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the debates highlighted issues such as the ethical dilemmas of Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) and the growing influence of AI on public infrastructure. The event fostered critical thinking and meaningful dialogue, giving attendees deeper insights into the evolving role of AI in society.
Held on March 17, 2025, the seminar From Data to Decisions: AI Agents in Action was organized by BVP-OPTICA and featured Ritik Sharma, an Optica alumnus working at Cognizant. The session gave students an in-depth understanding of AI agents, LLMs (Large Language Models), and their architectures, while live code demonstrations showcased real-world applications. Mr. Ritik’s guidance further helped attendees grasp the skills and mindset required to pursue a career in this evolving field.

On November 29, 2024, BVP Optica organized a visit to the Center for Artificial Intelligence at IIIT Delhi. The visit offered a deep dive into the latest AI research and its industry applications. Roboleague, held on October 18, 2024, brought together 10 teams to showcase their innovative robot designs in a thrilling soccer competition. Fostering skills in engineering, coding, and problem-solving, the event promoted STEM education and teamwork, offering a creative platform for friendly competition and collaboration.
The Case-O-Craze event, held on October 11, 2024, gathered 13 teams to explore sustainable energy solutions for a better future. Focusing on renewable energy challenges, the competition inspired critical thinking and creative problem-solving. BVP Optica empowered youth to take the lead in promoting green energy and environmental responsibility.

Prismatic Pioneers is a quiz designed to test knowledge and understanding of light, its properties, and interactions with matter. It explores various aspects of optics and photonics, including the dual nature of light and optical phenomena. The quiz challenged 243 undergraduate students with questions on light and fundamental physics. The event engaged participants with topics related to light’s behaviour and its role in understanding the universe.
Spectro Snap, part of BVP-OPTICA's Optical Invasion, was an online photography competition held from May 1, 2024. It invited 54 participants to showcase their creativity and photographic skills using techniques such as long exposure, light painting, and multiple exposure. Participants submitted their photos via Unstop. The competition provided a platform for both seasoned photographers and novices to display their talent.
Optical Invaders, an Ideathon hosted by BVP-OPTICA as part of Optical Invasion, aimed to merge innovation with optics and photonics, inviting visionaries to explore light-based technologies. The Ideathon challenged 54 undergraduate students from various institutions to innovate within the theme "Illuminated AI". Teams of 2-4 members were encouraged to use AI/ML techniques to enhance optical applications in sectors like astronomy, healthcare, and more.

BVP Optica hosted CircuitClash, a dynamic event that offered students practical experience in designing printed circuit boards (PCBs) and the chance to secure a coveted internship in the electronics industry. The event unfolded in two phases. It began with an online introductory workshop where students learned the basics of PCB design using the open-source software KiCAD. This was followed by an on-campus competition, where participants showcased their skills by designing and prototyping a PCB based on a given theme.

Led by industry expert Mr. Goyaam Jain, the session provided essential guidance on launching new ventures. Capture Your Campus, a photography competition hosted by BVP Optica in collaboration with the Digital Arts Society, encouraged freshmen to explore their inner photographers. Guided by talented seniors, students showcased their unique perspectives of the campus, focusing on the creative use of lighting and artistic expression. The event attracted a wide audience, with enticing prizes such as a 6-month Spotify Premium subscription for the winner and graphic tees for the runner-up. Participants also enjoyed refreshing goodies and exclusive merchandise, making the event both exciting and rewarding.
